description Take the Virtual Tour! - BOWMAN LAKE STATE PARK Bowman Lake State Park is a remote sylvan retreat known as "a camper's paradise." Scenic park roads wind through evergreen and hardwood forests to shady campsites. There is a sandy lakefront for swimmers and sunbathers, with several picnic areas nearby. The lake is regularly stocked with trout, and birdwatchers can spot as many as 103 species of birds. The park also has a nature center that stocks a self-guiding trail brochure for those who wish to stroll the nature trail around the lake. In winter, snowmobilers and cross-country skiers enjoy outstanding scenery on eight miles of designated trails.

SEASONAL CAMPING NOW AVAILABLE!! Reservations for summer-long camping are now available at Bowman Lake State Park. Save time and money with only one registration fee and camp for the summer! A limited number of campsites have been made available at the facility for seasonal camping. Patrons who are interested will need contact the park directly to make their reservations. Seasonal campsites do not include electricity, water or sewer services. No additional discounts, including the Access Pass, will be accepted for seasonal camping. Don't forget to Pre-Register!! 7 days prior to your arrival you can log-in and pre-register. IT SAVESTIME when checking in on the day of arrival!! Each year the campground makes every effort to provide safe swimming opportunities by testing the water and by keeping the swimming areas staffed with lifeguards. Please be aware that if the safety of our swimmers is compromised, due to lack of lifeguard coverage or water quality issues, swimming will be prohibited and therefore cannot be a guaranteed activity. Please take a few moments to read about the health risks associated with tick bites and some simple steps you can take to safeguard you and your family. http://www.governor.ny.gov/press/04092014Ticks To insure fairness for all NY customers, any reservation with departure dates outside the 9-month Maximum Window can not be changed or cancelled until 18 days after the reservation was made. Only 2 pets per site are permitted. Current rabies certificate required. Pets must be on a leash no longer than 6ft at all times. Campers must set up and occupy the site. During peak season, a camping party and their equipment may occupy a site for a maximum of 14 continuous days. After which, the camping party and equipment must leave the site and facility for 2 days before registering again for another site.
